Minneapolis Hosts Innovative Recruiting Event
On Wednesday, May 17, 2017 the Daugherty Minneapolis team partnered with HackerX to host more than 60 software engineers for an innovative recruiting event. Over 30 members of the Daugherty Business Solutions engineering team participated in “speed dating” style interviews with the developers in attendance. Throughout the Bloomington office, there were twelve stations set up allowing for candidates and the team to quickly assess each other in 5 minute dialogues. Those in attendance were able to meet some of the men and women working in the Daugherty Development Center and learn why these consultants chose to be a part of Team Daugherty.
Although the Development Center has only been a part of the Minneapolis branch for a little over a year and a half, it has expanded rapidly. Last fall, Daugherty announced that the Twin Cities branch would be hiring 30 technology professionals after being selected for several major projects. This event was just one of the ways that the recruiting team has been exploring as they have been working to keep up with the demands of the client projects.
Daugherty – Minneapolis Senior Operations Manager Wes Strait was pleased with the turnout. “We were welcoming quite a large group of area developers to our offices, so you can imagine it was a busy and exciting few weeks,” he said. “Our team had the opportunity to meet some of the most talented software engineers in the Twin Cities area, and our guests were able to gain a better understanding of the creative solutions we craft for our clients every day. I think the event was a great success.”
The Daugherty Development Center provides project development services based on Daugherty’s rapid feature elaboration process (RPM) and agile development practice. The approach strategically reduces the cost of application maintenance, management, development, implementation, training and support for the organization’s clients. Daugherty developers create custom software for any platform, including a wide variety of open source, Java, .NET, native mobile, infrastructure as code, DevOps, cloud computing, integration, and SaaS solutions.
The Daugherty – Minneapolis Development Center is currently engaged on projects for several Minneapolis-based clients, as well as clients located in St. Louis. Based on current opportunities within the pipeline, projected growth is expected to continue accelerating throughout the rest of this year.
