Daugherty to Sponsor Startup Voodoo Conference In St. Louis and Award “Most Promising Midwest Startup”

This September, a new conference is coming to St. Louis specifically to help highlight the city’s thriving startup scene.  Daugherty will be helping to sponsor the event as well as award one company with the title of “Most Promising Midwest Startup.”

The event will take place on September 25 at the brand new Ballpark Village and feature speakers such as David Karandish, CEO of Answers.com, Fang Cheng, CEO of Linc, Woodie Niess, whose book the JOBS Act was based upon, and Tim Rowe, CEO of the Cambridge Innovation Center.

The startup competition, presented by Daugherty, is being crowdsourced on www.startupvoodoo.com.  Anyone can nominate a startup as long as the startup is less than two years old, has raised less than $150,000 in capital, and they must be in the digital technology, biosciences, or ag-tech spaces.  In early August, voting will begin.  The top three will have one minute to give a final pitch to a panel of judges led by our own Ron Daugherty.

The startup Ron and his panel select will receive $5,000 in cash as well as 10 hours of free legal services and 10 hours of free marketing services.
