Daugherty Teammates Participate In Extra Life Day of Play
On Saturday, November 4, members of Team Daugherty from Minneapolis and St. Louis came together to participate in the Extra Life Day of Play fundraising event benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Participants played board games and video games for 24-hours, raising almost $9,200 and finishing in the top 100 on the event’s leaderboard.
This is the first year Daugherty has formed an official team and hosted the event in the Minneapolis and St. Louis offices. However, Zach Lanz, a member of the Twin Cities business unit, has taken part in the annual fundraiser since it’s inception in 2008.
“This event was an amazing accomplishment powered by Team Daugherty’s time, money and passion for making a difference,” Lanz said. “I am proud of the funds we raised, but this is only the beginning. We look forward to working with Daugherty management to continue, and potentially expand, Daugherty’s participation next year.”
According to Extra Life’s Twitter page, this year’s event raised more than $7.3 million, besting last year’s total by over $700,000. Since beginning as a grassroots effort online, Extra Life has expanded its outreach by partnering with streaming platforms such as Twitch and YouTube, raising over $30 million to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
The Extra Life Day of Play event is one of many initiatives Daugherty employees take part in annually to support the communities in which they live and work. Daugherty is dedicated to aligning with causes that will make the greatest impact on children and families in their neighborhood.
