Daugherty-Atlanta Volunteers with ACSS; Named Finalist For IMPACT Award

Giving back to the community is something that is deeply ingrained into the Daugherty culture, and our Atlanta team is no different. Last September, 22 Atlanta consultants facilitated a career workshop for the Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency.  ACSS is a great organization in the metropolitan Atlanta area that empowers homeless individuals to achieve economic self-sufficiency and their ultimate potential to thrive in life.  They are dedicated to helping their clients gain self-sufficiency focusing on personal commitment and accountability, spiritual restoration, respect for the individual, and providing a hand up – not a hand out.

The career workshop was for ACSS’s CareerWorks VIP students to help them with all aspects of finding a job – identifying and expanding their professional network, finding job opportunities and interviewing skills.  Workshop sessions also included guidance on building a personal brand and staying focused and confident during their job search.  We also had a session working with veterans focusing on the specific challenges they face.

This was our 3rd year working with ACSS to conduct the workshop, and it’s continuing to make a positive impact.

“We are so glad to have Daugherty back for the third year in a row.  Our clients really enjoy the workshops, and this has been the best year yet.” – Gordon Ellis, Director of Employment

“Daugherty has proven to be a generous corporate partner on all levels, through volunteerism, employment and giving.  ACSS exists because of partnerships like this.” – Janay Boyer, Director of Development.
