Daugherty-Atlanta Named a Finalist for a Corporate Volunteer Council IMPACT Award
The Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta (CVC) announced that Daugherty Business Solutions is a finalist for its 17th annual IMPACT Awards. The IMPACT Awards, which recognizes companies with outstanding workplace volunteer programs, will honor Daugherty and other area winners at a breakfast in September at the College Football Hall of Fame.
Daugherty Atlanta is one of two finalists in the skills-based project category, an award presented for a project that has achieved significant, measurable results. The project Daugherty Atlanta delivered was an all-day career workshop at the Atlanta Center for Self Sufficiency. It included modules on knowing yourself, finding and researching opportunities, building relationships, constructing a resume, and how to be successful on the job. Participants in the workshop included Atlanta’s homeless community taking part in a month-long program to transition from a state of homelessness to independence and self-reliance.
“The Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta is proud to honor and recognize outstanding Atlanta companies that share a commitment to corporate volunteerism and community outreach through workplace volunteer programs,” says Maurice Baker, president of the board of directors of the Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta and manager of community relations at Georgia Natural Gas.
The Corporate Volunteer Council of Atlanta is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting business and volunteer leaders and raising awareness of corporate volunteerism for the improvement of the Atlanta community,
“I am very pleased and excited Daugherty has been named one of two finalists in the Skills-Based Volunteering category,” said Grant Knox, senior consultant at Daugherty Business Solutions. “This is a great honor and recognition for all the great work the team at Daugherty has been doing for the Atlanta Community.”
