Alex Gillette Named 30 under 30 Honoree

Daugherty Business Solutions Senior Consultant Alex Gillette has been named a 30 under 30 honoree by the St. Louis Business Journal. This annual award recognizes future leaders in the region. All honorees are based in St. Louis and actively support the community in which they live and work.

Alex and the rest of the 2018 class of professionals were chosen by a panel of previous 30 Under 30 winners and the Business Journal editorial board. This is one of the most popular awards programs on the Business Journal calendar, and the publication received more than 200 nominations this year.

Since joining Daugherty Business Solutions in August 2016, Alex’s impact has been unprecedented. As a Senior Consultant, he is responsible for the architecture, development, quality assurance and delivery of software engineering initiatives for one of the largest multinational biotechnology corporations. Only nine months into his tenure at Daugherty, Alex assumed a technical lead role, orchestrating a development team to build key tools for the client. Alex also leads high performing Agile development teams as they develop mobile iOS applications.

In addition to his impactful client work, Alex has dedicated himself to helping his teammates, and fellow members of the Daugherty Unified Development Center, grow in their careers. As a Team Manager, he serves as a mentor and coach for his colleagues by providing one-on-one technical and career feedback. He also has a reputation for empowering his teammates and pushing them to work outside their comfort zone to continue to grow. After hours, Alex has led a number of learning sessions focused on multi-discipline engineering and full-stack development.

Alex also actively supports a number of charitable organizations. Before coming to Daugherty, Alex and a team of his classmates at the University of West Florida raised thousands of dollars to support the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Since moving to St. Louis, Alex has continued to support this organization’s mission of finding a cure for cancer. Alex also participates in Daugherty’s annual campaign to raise funds for the United Way of Greater St. Louis.

The 2018 class of St. Louis Business Journal 30 under 30 award winners will be celebrated at a cocktail reception on July 12 at the Caramel Room.
