Lee Metcalf
Vice President, Community Outreach & Access Point

Lee is leveraging more than 30 years of government and industry experience to clients and highlighting Daugherty’s proven ability to impact performance.  Commissioned via NROTC at Mizzou, he served as a surface warfare officer for six years on active duty in the Pacific before transitioning to the Reserve Component where he continued his Navy service with eight command assignments.

Promoted to Rear Admiral in 2005, he served as inaugural director of the National Office of Global Maritime Situational Awareness that works to increase information sharing across government in the United States and abroad. He completed his Navy career as Commander, Navy Region Midwest, responsible for $3 billion in Navy assets spread over 16 states.

Upon leaving active duty in 1982, and concurrently with his Navy Reserve career, he joined McDonnell-Douglas and pursued positions of increasing responsibility. He grew the McDonnell Aircraft Organizational Development function, headed the HR and Finance functions for McDonnell-Douglas Australia, Pty., Ltd., and led the implementation of Total Quality Management System (TQMS) for the F-15 program. Lee formed Metcalf Group and spent the next seven years providing performance management support to clients as diverse as Anheuser-Busch, Toledo Public School System, University of Bucharest, Earthgrains and the City of St. Louis, before rolling back under a corporate umbrella as the director for organizational development for Sara Lee Corporation. He was called back to active duty full-time in 2005 and moved back to St. Louis upon retirement.

Education

He holds a BA in journalism from Mizzou and an MA in organizational development from Webster University. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for Webster University, R&D Advisory Board for University of Missouri – Columbia, and Leadership Advisory Board for the St. Louis Science Center. He is cofounder of the St. Louis Regional Alliance For The Troops (RAFTT) and deeply involved in the efforts to support the St. Louis Regional STEM Coalition. His military decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal and the Legion of Merit.
